Hunting & Fishing North Hastings has long been recognized for its many angling opportunities. Our clean lakes and rivers offer anglers a variety of fishing experiences. We even have our own North Hastings species of fish, the Jewel Trout! Stocking lists for all lakes are available through the MNR website. Boats, maps and other equipment are available through our local outfitters.
When the leaves have fallen, North Hastings comes to life with the annual deer hunt, during the first two weeks of November. "The hunt" is an important part of local culture and our local economy. Hunters descend on North Hastings, hunt camps are filled and two weeks of quality hunting mixed with camaraderie make this a much anticipated annual event. In the fall of 2011, hunters are looking forward to their first elk hunt since the elk restoration project started in North Hastings a number of years ago. For hunting regulations please check out the MNR website link.
